Don’t GET Ready! Be READY For Jesus Christ’s Return

On Thursday, November 14, 2013, on Let’s Talk About It (blogtalkradio), I will be discussing “Don’t GET Ready ~ BE READY For Jesus Christ’s Return”.

In recent weeks, there have been some serious natural disasters around the world. In some cases, WARNINGS were given so the people could get away from the destruction. Some heeded the warning while some didn’t. This is the same for the return of JESUS CHRIST. The WARNING HAS BEEN SENT OUT but there are are some who are not listening. There are some who think that since JESUS hasn’t come yet, HE probably won’t come any time soon. Don’t be like the five foolish virgins in Matthew 25:1-13…“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Morning Prayer October 13, 2013

Good morning and welcome to WordAlive. This is your host Evangelist Theresa Scott and today is Sunday, October 13, 2013.

It is 6:05 a.m. and we’d like to say “thank you for joining us this morning for 31 days of prayer”. We’ll be praying for the month of October every morning at 6:00 a.m. We ask that you will join us and if the LORD leads you to pray, call in area code 1-347-237-5533 and press the #1 and we will get you on the air. Amen. Glory to GOD. Like to say good morning to my husband Bishop Gerald Scott who joins me every morning for this prayer session and we thank GOD for that. This morning we will be turning our attention to Proverbs 14:12 which tells us “There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.” We want to make sure today that we are following the right way of the LORD. We want to make sure that we follow the word of the LORD. And you know, Proverbs is a very good book of the Bible to begin to read because it is a book of instruction and it is a book of wisdom. It’s a very good book and we thank GOD for giving us this. If we would really take the time to sit down and read and to meditate on the book of Proverbs, some of the things that we do, we wouldn’t do because we would have wisdom from GOD, straight from GOD. Wisdom straight from GOD.
Proverbs says in chapter 14:33 “Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, But what is in the heart of fools is made known.”
We don’t want to be fools today. We want to be those people of wisdom and understanding. Proverbs 4:7 also tells us “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” We want to make sure that we get an understanding of the Word of GOD. We want to make sure that we have wisdom. We want to make sure that we don’t be on the path that SEEMS right, but we want to make sure that we are on the RIGHT PATH, not on the path that seems right, but on the right path. And that’s what we want to do is to make sure we are on the right path. AMEN? So this morning we invite you to get your Bible and we are going to Read Proverbs chapter 4. It is great to pray. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing but we want to read Proverbs chapter 4 from the New King James Bible:

Hear, my children, the instruction of a father,
And give attention to know understanding;
2 For I give you good doctrine:
Do not forsake my law.
3 When I was my father’s son,
Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,
4 He also taught me, and said to me:
“Let your heart retain my words;
Keep my commands, and live.
5 Get wisdom! Get understanding!
Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;
Love her, and she will keep you.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she will promote you;
She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,
And the years of your life will be many.
11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths.
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
And when you run, you will not stumble.
13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go;
Keep her, for she is your life.

14 Do not enter the path of the wicked,
And do not walk in the way of evil.
15 Avoid it, do not travel on it;
Turn away from it and pass on.
16 For they do not sleep unless they have done evil;
And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness,
And drink the wine of violence.

18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun,[a]
That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
19 The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.

20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you.
26 Ponder the path of your feet,
And let all your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil.

Remove your foot from evil. AMEN

This was Proverbs chapter 4, the entire chapter. We admonish you to go back and study on this word and meditate on this word and let this word be applied to your life on this day, October 13, 2013. AMEN. Our Key Scripture can be found in Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” I know this is repeated in this same chapter and if it’s not in this chapter, I know it’s in another chapter. (Proverbs 16:25)
Let’s ask GOD for wisdom this morning. Let’s ask GOD to help us this morning to be led by His Holy Spirit.
In verse #9 in Proverbs chapter 14, it says fools mock at sin. “Fools mock at sin, but among the upright there is favor.” And then verse 12, and I keep going back to that, it says, “There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.”
We don’t want to do anything that is going to lead us to death, spiritually or naturally. Spiritual death is being separated from GOD, being separated from His Spirit, AMEN? Being separated from HIM. We don’t want to be separated from GOD. We don’t want to be separated at all and we want to ask GOD today that He will keep us today in wisdom; that we will love His wisdom; that we will obey the Wisdom that He gives us as we find it in the entire book of the Bible but most especially as we find it in the Book of Proverbs. Proverbs 14:16 says “A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.”
This scripture talks about fools, fools, fools. This is what people that don’t abide by wisdom, this is what they do. So I would advise you, if you have a problem with anger, lust, disobedience, read the book of Proverbs. Don’t just read it, but meditate on it. Ask the Lord to help you today to meditate on the book of Proverbs. Meditate on it and learn from it because there’s a lot of things that we can learn from studying the Word of GOD. It’s a wealth of knowledge. It’s something that can help us. Something that can keep us as we go along the day. So we thank GOD this morning for HIS Word for wisdom.
The Bible tells us that “broad is the way that leadeth to destruction”. But God wants us to be on the narrow path today. Not many that find it.

My Best Friend

My Bible is my best friend.
It knows my beginning and my end.
God gave it to me and it gives me life
It saves me from much bitterness and strife.
My Best Friend tells me that I’m fearfully and wonderfully made
My Best Friend tells me that I’m born again ~ I’m saved.
My Best Friend tells me that from sickness I am healed.

Get familiar with Him at days’ beginning and end.

We’ve ALL Been Commissioned To LOVE ~ Like GOD

Could you imagine GOD not loving you? Could you imagine GOD not caring for you? I can’t. Matthew 25 is a chapter that the Body of Christ should read repeatedly in Sunday services, in Bible Study and in prayer meetings. It is simply talking about loving one another.

We know a very familiar Scripture in 1 Corinthians 13 which talks about Love ~ the GOD kind of love. Although many have read and quoted this scripture, few live by it. How can I make such a brazen statement? Because I have seen how people treat one another. I have seen people who claim to love GOD whom they have not seen but turn their backs on their fellow man. I have seen people take tithes, offerings, and “gifts of love” to the church but watch a beggar on the street go hungry. I have seen brothers and sisters in Christ judge one another based on their financial status, skin color, denominational preference and sexual orientation. I will admit that I, too, have sat in the seat of judgment but GOD has opened my once closed eyes and has shown me the way of LOVE and has shown me that we ALL have been commissioned to LOVE.

LOVE does not condemn another, even when they fall short.
LOVE does not refuse to help another when it is in their power to help.
Love does not discriminate.
LOVE does not pray prayers of hate towards another person.
GOD is LOVE. GOD SHOWED HIS LOVE towards us by giving HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, JESUS as a SACRIFICE for our SIN. 

How can we SAY we love GOD whom we have NEVER SEEN but refuse to help those whom we see every day? How can we EXPECT GOD to love us but we go on every day picking and choosing whom to SHOW LOVE to?

As I read Matthew 25, my heart aches because I know that I could do more. I know that if I had the resources, I would scoop up the homeless and put them in a HOME. Not a shelter, as shelters go, but in a HOME. If I had the proper resources, I would have a team of people on the streets EVERY DAY, with food trucks, FEEDING THE HUNGRY AND HOMELESS – for FREE. I know that if I had the proper financial resources, I would send gifts of love to every homeless shelter: personal hygiene items, sheets/blankets/pillows, washcloths/towels, clothes and food. My GOD, this is LOVE.

I realize GOD has commissioned people to do different things for HIM, but WE ALL HAVE BEEN COMMISSIONED TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER, for how do we know what LOVE can do for a person? Showing LOVE could change a life, could stop a suicide, could stop a rape. Showing GOD’s LOVE could prevent a murder or could stop a drug addict from taking that next hit.

Some people say LOVE IS blind
But the Bible says LOVE IS KIND.

Once A Believer, Holiness Is NOT An Option

In this year of 2013, I find it alarming that a lot of people who are claiming to be Born Again Believers think it is OPTIONAL to live holy lives. Many seem to think that they can serve GOD on their terms, as if they are the Creator and GOD is the CREATED. It is time for a true, serious introspection.

GOD, throughout the Bible, talks about HIS people being HOLY. HE said, “Be Ye Holy” Why? “Because I AM HOLY”. There is no other explaination needed. Be Ye Because I AM.

I’ve had conversations with people and they tell me that Holiness doesn’t require self-denial. Holiness to some just means going to church on Sunday and/or whatever night Bible Study happens to be on. Some think that Holiness just means to abstain from certain activities but Holiness is a lifestyle. Holiness means to live a life that is pleasing to GOD. Holiness means to go against the grain, so to speak. To live holy means to love what GOD loves and to hate what GOD hates. Now I am not saying that we are to hate any group of people. Please be clear on that. What I AM saying is that if GOD speaks against it in the Bible, we should be against it, as believers. 
I know this is not a popular message, but HOLINESS, for the Believer, is NOT an option! It never was and it never shall be. 

GOD wants there to be a distinction between HIS people and the people who denounce HIM. There should be a difference in the way we look, talk, and live. We should be light to all darkness. We should be the right when wrong presents itself. We must be the good when evil is present. We must be the salt that seasons the world. 
The only way for a true believer to be holy is to understand what true holiness is. Holiness is not based on women wearing long dresses and wearing their hair in a bun. It is the condition of the heart. We obtain holiness by forging a relationship with the Creator through prayer and study of HIS WORD.
There are many out there who will think this post to be preposterous simply because they don’t believe the Bible. Some don’t even believe there is a GOD but I do! I believe because I have seen the power of GOD in my life. I have seen GOD do miracles for me and for others. I have seen and therefore I believe and because of that, I strive to live HOLY as unto the LORD. 
So, let us ponder this:
Once A Believer, HOLINESS IS NOT AN OPTION.

I Am Not Ashamed of The Gospel Of Jesus Christ

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Being on social media has proven to be a great resource to what others believe. I know that the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST is becoming less popular and more and more people are divulging the fact that they believe JESUS/GOD is a fairy-tale. Some people talk about an imaginary GOD who lives in a book made up by man. Of course I disagree with that train of thought, but people will believe what they choose to believe, including me.
However, I want to take a look at the growing trend against Christianity:
#1. Some people think Christians are crazy for believing in an unseen GOD.
My reply to that is this:  I know that I pray to an unseen GOD and that unseen GOD answers my prayers.
#2. Some people think that Christians should be on an island of their own.
My answer to that is this: Why? Why should Christians have to back down from what they believe when others are not backing down from what THEY believe? I won’t back down because I believe what I believe and that’s my prerogative.

#3. Christians who come against what the Bible comes against are labeled as “haters”. I don’t hate anybody (that I know of). If someone has a different view from mine, so be it. However, I do try to tell people my point of view and if they don’t accept it, I can’t force them to.

To me, GOD is real. I have studied the Bible for many years and GOD is real to me. I know that I see things within the Bible that have come true and these things were written many years ago. There are still many things I still have to learn, but I believe GOD will teach me those things in time.
I have also learned through social media that some people think ALL CHRISTIANS are alike. I don’t believe JESUS is coming back in a space ship. I don’t believe I would ever tell people that I am JESUS CHRIST. I don’t believe I would try to convince people to drink KoolAid spiked with poison. I don’t stand on corners demoralizing people for being in same-sex relationships, committing adultery, being alcoholics, or dead-beat parents. I try hard to let the Word of GOD do the Work by saying what it says.

I believe the Bible is inspired by GOD. If it isn’t, I guess I’ll find out when I die, huh?

There’s power in the Word of GOD. AMEN. (I’m pretty sure my son will respond to this 🙂 )

GOOD MORNING FATHER GOD.

Thank You for another day.

I thank You for this one more chance, to bend my knees and pray.

I thank You for the trials,

which You have brought me through,

and I thank You for healing me, as only You can do.

I thank You for protection

from enemies and foes

and from dangers seen and unseen

some I’ll never know.

I thank You Father GOD

for this another day
