I Believe – By Poetess Andrea Taylor Britt

I Believe

I-believe-blacksilk

When God created the heavens and earth I was not there…but I believe

When Moses witness God PART the Red Sea I was not there….but I believe
When the Angel came to Mary and told her she was favored by God and that Holy Spirit would fall on her and
she would conceive……
I was not there and I still believe
When that same Child grew up to only shed his blood for you and for me
I was not there either….AND I STILL BELIEVE
“Blessed are those who have not seen yet have BELIEVED…….
Are the Words of He
Thank You Jesus for all you’ve done for me..and even if it was nothing
I STILL WOULD BELIEVE!
YES I AM A BELIEVER

An Attitude of Forgiveness and Love

Have you had someone do something to you that seemed unforgivable? Has someone said “I’m sorry” repeatedly but turned around and hurt you again and now you just can’t forgive them? Well, when I read through the Bible, I see how mankind has repeatedly done things to God which seem unforgivable. I’ve read how people have said “I’m sorry” or “I’ve sinned” and have seemingly repented, but turn right around and do the same thing over and over again…..Yet……God has forgiven us. His attitude is to Forgive…..Because His Attitude is to LOVE.

Can you imagine, for a moment, Jesus hanging on an old rugged cross…..for us….for our sins? Can you imagine for a moment, God, looking down on His Son hanging there, on our behalf…..all because of His Attitude of Forgiveness and Love. Imagine for a moment, that God, knowing all things, knew that mankind would repeatedly sin against Him, but HE chose to forgive and to love us.

I know for a fact that I have rebelled, disobeyed, said I was sorry numerous times and went back and did the same thing I said I was sorry for, yet God forgave me and loved me. Oh that I would take on His Attitude of Forgiveness and Love. Oh That I would be like HIM.

Forgiveness is a powerful tool. We can take a lesson from God and choose to forgive and choose to love.

“If You Be A Child Of God…..”

In Matthew 4:1-11, we read about a conversation between Jesus, the Son of God, and the Tempter , the devil, satan, after  Jesus had been fasting in the wilderness 40 days and 40 nights and was hungry..

Let’s see the conversation:

Matthew 4:1-11King James Version (KJV)

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

What I want to point out is this, the tempter, satan, the devil, said to Jesus, twice “If thou be the Son of God…..” It appears to me that satan was trying to get Jesus to doubt who HE (Jesus) was. He, the devil, satan, the tempter, knew who Jesus was or he would have never said, “If thou be the Son of God.” But the glory of the story is this:
JESUS
KNEW
HE
WAS
THE
SON OF GOD.
He had NO DOUBT about WHO HE WAS and WHOSE He was. That tempter, devil, satan, could not make Jesus doubt himself. He was firm in who He was.

We see that satan, in the above examples tried to make Jesus doubt who HE was and did it by using portions of the Word. However, Jesus knew who He was. He knew He was the Bread of Life. He knew His Father owned cattle on a thousand hills. Jesus knew that he was not to temp God by jumpimg off of that high pinacle.

The point of this blog is to remind us that we need to know who we are  and whose we are. Satan, just like he did Eve in the garden of Eden, tried to bring doubt. Eve gave in but Jesus didn’t. Jesus was firm in His belief of who He was, who He was to worship, and to not have to prove who He was by changing stones to bread, Jesus was confident in who he was. He didn’t have the lust of the eye, nor the lust of the flesh, nor the pride of life operating in Him, thus satan’s temptations failed with Jesus.

Poor Eve. She wanted what sounded good. She had everything she needed, but check this out:

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die and the serpent said unto the woman, “ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil”. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to makeone wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” Genesis 3:1-6

Eve KNEW what God had commanded but the lust of her eyes, the lust of her flesh and the pride of life kicked in and caused her and her husband to be banished from the Garden of Eden and die….spiritually……separated from God. Eve did not stand her ground and neither did her husband, Adam, and as a result, the tempter was successful at getting Adam and Eve to disobey and therefore be punished, banished, and separated from their creator.

Is your relationship with God tight enough that when the tempter, satan, the devil comes, you will know God’s voice vs. satan’s voice?

Do you KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN GOD?

If you be a child of God………..You ARE seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. ~ EPHESIANS 2:4-7

If you be a child of God………..You ARE an HEIR of GOD and a JOINT HEIR with Jesus ~ rOMANS 8;17

If you be a child of God………..You ARE a NEW CREATURE in Christ Jesus. Old things are passed away and all things are made new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

If you be a child of God……….You ARE saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost and POWER.

If you be a child of God, You Are Healed by Jesus Stripes……Come on now and say Hallelujah!
Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24 and Psalm 103

So, when the devil, the tempter, satan comes to you with “IF YOU BE A CHILD OF GOD”, Just let him know that it is WRITTEN and quote those verses above.

Somebody ought to shout “GLORY” because you are A Child Of The Most High God!!!

HOW CAN I SAY I LOVE YOU?

How can I say “I love you”
When I won’t even meet your need?
How can I say “I love you”
When you’re hungry
But you I won’t feed?
How can I say “I love you”
And you don’t even have a home?
How can I say “I love you”
And leave you on the streets, alone?
How can I say “I love you”
When you have no clothes for your back?
How can I say “I love you”
When I have PLENTY but I see your LACK?
How can I say “I love you”
And see you sick and in pain?
How can I say “I love you”
If I replace your sunshine with rain?
How can I say “I love you”
And I know you’ve no place to sleep?
How can I say “I love you”
And don’t care how much you weep?
How can I say “I love God”
Whom I’ve never seen
But I see you every day
And treat you oh so mean?
Father please forgive me
For closing my eyes to those in need.
Help me not be selfish
But to always sow a love seed.
AMEN!

Forgiveness

This evening, my husband taught on Unforgiveness, The Unforgivable Sin. He broke down the fact that we need to forgive and as we forgive, we free ourselves. He reminded us that if we don’t forgive, our Heavenly Father won’t forgive us. I need GOD’s forgiveness so I want to forgive EVERYBODY who has done me wrong and I hope all those whom I have done wrong can and will forgive me.

When we hold on to unforgiveness, it’s like drinking poison. It brings on all types of problems that we don’t need.

Forgiveness is of GOD and forgiveness is good.

My Song To Adonai

ADONAI, I need YOU more and more each day
Without YOU, I can’t find my way!
ADONAI, I need YOU to be by my side
ADONAI, In YOU I DO abide.
ADONAI, I praise YOU
YOU are my peace!
ADONAI, I praise YOU
In YOU I find relief!
ADONAI I need YOU
so much more
ADONAI I NEED YOU
To rebuke, correct and restore.
ADONAI I love YOU
YOU saved my soul
ADONAI I love YOU
Because YOU made me whole!

Morning Prayer October 13, 2013

 SignThis is an excerpt from this morning’s broadcast. Please click the link below to hear the entire 30 minute broadcast. Thank you.

Good morning and welcome to WordAlive. This is your host Evangelist Theresa Scott and today is Sunday, October 13, 2013.

It is 6:05 a.m. and we’d like to say “thank you for joining us this morning for 31 days of prayer”. We’ll be praying for the month of October every morning at 6:00 a.m. We ask that you will join us and if the LORD leads you to pray, call in area code 1-347-237-5533 and press the #1 and we will get you on the air. Amen. Glory to GOD. Like to say good morning to my husband Bishop Gerald Scott who joins me every morning for this prayer session and we thank GOD for that. This morning we will be turning our attention to Proverbs 14:12 which tells us “There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.” We want to make sure today that we are following the right way of the LORD. We want to make sure that we follow the word of the LORD. And you know, Proverbs is a very good book of the Bible to begin to read because it is a book of instruction and it is a book of wisdom. It’s a very good book and we thank GOD for giving us this. If we would really take the time to sit down and read and to meditate on the book of Proverbs, some of the things that we do, we wouldn’t do because we would have wisdom from GOD, straight from GOD. Wisdom straight from GOD.
Proverbs says in chapter 14:33Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, But what is in the heart of fools is made known.”
We don’t want to be fools today. We want to be those people of wisdom and understanding. Proverbs 4:7 also tells us “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” We want to make sure that we get an understanding of the Word of GOD. We want to make sure that we have wisdom. We want to make sure that we don’t be on the path that SEEMS right, but we want to make sure that we are on the RIGHT PATH, not on the path that seems right, but on the right path. And that’s what we want to do is to make sure we are on the right path. AMEN? So this morning we invite you to get your Bible and we are going to Read Proverbs chapter 4. It is great to pray. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing but we want to read Proverbs chapter 4 from the New King James Bible:

Hear, my children, the instruction of a father,
And give attention to know understanding;
2 For I give you good doctrine:
Do not forsake my law.
3 When I was my father’s son,
Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,
4 He also taught me, and said to me:
“Let your heart retain my words;
Keep my commands, and live.
5 Get wisdom! Get understanding!
Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;
Love her, and she will keep you.
Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she will promote you;
She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,
And the years of your life will be many.
11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths.
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
And when you run, you will not stumble.
13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go;
Keep her, for she is your life.

14 Do not enter the path of the wicked,
And do not walk in the way of evil.
15 Avoid it, do not travel on it;
Turn away from it and pass on.
16 For they do not sleep unless they have done evil;
And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness,
And drink the wine of violence.

18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun,[a]
That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
19 The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.

20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you.
26 Ponder the path of your feet,
And let all your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil.

Remove your foot from evil. AMEN

This was Proverbs chapter 4, the entire chapter. We admonish you to go back and study on this word and meditate on this word and let this word be applied to your life on this day, October 13, 2013. AMEN. Our Key Scripture can be found in Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” I know this is repeated in this same chapter and if it’s not in this chapter, I know it’s in another chapter. (Proverbs 16:25)
Let’s ask GOD for wisdom this morning. Let’s ask GOD to help us this morning to be led by His Holy Spirit.
In verse #9 in Proverbs chapter 14, it says fools mock at sin. “Fools mock at sin, but among the upright there is favor.” And then verse 12, and I keep going back to that, it says, “There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.”
We don’t want to do anything that is going to lead us to death, spiritually or naturally. Spiritual death is being separated from GOD, being separated from His Spirit, AMEN? Being separated from HIM. We don’t want to be separated from GOD. We don’t want to be separated at all and we want to ask GOD today that He will keep us today in wisdom; that we will love His wisdom; that we will obey the Wisdom that He gives us as we find it in the entire book of the Bible but most especially as we find it in the Book of Proverbs. Proverbs 14:16 says “A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.”
This scripture talks about fools, fools, fools. This is what people that don’t abide by wisdom, this is what they do. So I would advise you, if you have a problem with anger, lust, disobedience, read the book of Proverbs. Don’t just read it, but meditate on it. Ask the Lord to help you today to meditate on the book of Proverbs. Meditate on it and learn from it because there’s a lot of things that we can learn from studying the Word of GOD. It’s a wealth of knowledge. It’s something that can help us. Something that can keep us as we go along the day. So we thank GOD this morning for HIS Word for wisdom.
The Bible tells us that “broad is the way that leadeth to destruction”. But God wants us to be on the narrow path today. Not many that find it.
