I Need Your Help

Hi Everyone,

I have just written a booklet about a man who was once saved but, after a few years of being on fire for God, he backslid. It is loosely based on “A Christmas Carol”  as far as the angel taking the man around to show him his former self, present self and future self, and is entitled, The Life of A Christian: Past. Present and Future.

Do you think that it could sell?

Thank you to all who respond.

Black Friday or Black Friday

christ-149313_640      OR                     Black Friday (Red bag)

During this time of the year, we hear SO MUCH about “Black Friday” shopping. Retailers spend millions of dollars in advertising in an effort to persuade consumers to spend their money on items that will lose their value as soon as it leaves the store or showroom floor.

  • Cell phone companies tell you of the newest phone and why you should purchase it. (New phones can cost anywhere from $300 and up – depending on brand and service provider)
  • Car manufacturers/dealerships try to persuade you as to why you need THEIR CAR. They tell you how fast the car can go (although city speed limits are far beyond the speeds displayed on the commercials).
  • Electronic companies want you to buy their television, their gaming system, their earphones, etc. (Televisions can range anywhere from $120 to thousands (depending on size, make, model and company selling the item).

All of these things lose their value and perish but there is one Gift that will NEVER lose its value nor will it ever perish, and that is the LOVE of God which was demonstrated so greatly on a Black Friday, a.k.a. Good Friday, over two-thousand years ago. Let’s look at Matthew 27:35-45, particularly, verse 45

35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36 And sitting down they watched him there;37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. 39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Now, in verse 45, we see that for THREE (3) hours, there was DARKNESS all over the land. Have you ever been in a blackout? Have you ever been in a situation where it was pitch black and you could see nothing….? Jesus was giving His life in exchange for our sins. He was becoming the ultimate sacrifice for us….so that we could be reconciled back to God the Father. It was a Black Friday!

I know that what Jesus did on the cross will never depreciate, lose its value, or perish, however, if we don’t accept God’s love (the gift of SALVATION) through Jesus’ death, burial & resurrection, we shall also likewise perish (Luke 13:5; Luke 24:47).

Another thing I want to mention about Black Friday is that people are rushing and fighting to get supposed “deals” and super “markdown” prices. Some of these same people will stand in line for hours (and in extreme cases, days), to purchase items which can do nothing for your soul. But sadly, on the flip side of that, I cannot say that I have seen anybody standing in line for hours/days to go to church to hear the Word of God.

Let’s take a look at Matthew 6:19-21

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

So I ask you, Which Black Friday is more meaningful to you?

          BLACK FRIDAY                 OR                            BLACK FRIDAY?

As you pray today, please pray for those who are contemplating suicide because they are “tired of living” due to poverty, love rejection, family rejection, medical issues, terminal medical issues, peer pressure, demonic voices telling them to kill themselves, depression, hate, and mental disturbances.
Please pray and ask GOD to intervene for the ones who are seeking to KNOW HIM.
Please pray for the homeless, the mentally challenged.
Please pray for the ones who are contemplating murder, rape, robbery, that GOD would intervene.
Please pray for the backslider…those who have been hurt by “the church”.
Please pray for the child molester that GOD will intervene
Please pray for those imprisoned, that they will seek GOD and be saved.
This I ask in the name of JESUS’ AMEN.

What is Salvation? It’s More Than Repeating A Sinner’s Prayer

sal·va·tion  (sl-vshn)

n.

1.

a. Preservation or deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil.

b. A source, means, or cause of such preservation or deliverance.

2. Christianity

a. Deliverance from the power or penalty of sin; redemption.

b. The agent or means that brings about such deliverance.

Looking at definition #2, we see that Salvation is “deliverance from the power or penality of sin; redemption”.

Unfortunately, many people take SALVATION as merely repeating a “sinner’s prayer” and then living life basically the same way as they did before repeating the sinner’s prayer.

What do I mean? Glad you asked. What I mean is this: SALVATION is more than repeating something somebody tells you to say. Salvation is

KNOWING, BELIEVING AND WALKING IN THE FACT THAT JESUS’ DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION has delivered us from the penalty of sin which was eternal death/damnation.

Some people say that because JESUS died for our sins and saved us from the penalty of sin, whatever sins we commit after repeating the sinner’s prayer are covered. In other words, some think that once a person makes a confession of salvation, they can still be alcoholics, adulterers, thieves, etc because they’ve already been forgiven.

WRONG.

If we really understood the meaning of salvation, we would have a total change of mind towards the things that GOD, in the Bible refers to as sin. If we would do a study of Isaiah 53 in conjuction to Romans 6 and John 3, we would see what salvation really means. If I asked 10 people today “What is Salvation”? I would get 10 different answers.

Once we realize that we have been redeemed from the power of sin and it’s penalty, we will begin to live like we have been redeemed from the power of sin and it’s penalty.

Too many people are walkng around in their sin nature and think it’s ok with GOD. Too many people are refusing to be renewed in the spirit of their mind because they are stuck on the mindset that salvation is mereley repeating the “sinner’s prayer”.How can we believe on a JESUS whom we don’t know? How can we know why JESUS died for our sins if we don’t study the Word of GOD? We can’t just think we are going to get by with the “sinner’s prayer” and think GOD is just going to let us slide into heaven. Please read Isaiah 53, Romans 6 and John 3 but before you do that, ask GOD to give you HIS understanding of what HIS Word is saying. Ask GOD to show you what Salvation is really all about and then when HE shows you, WALK IN IT. You’ll be surprised at what you will learn and how your life will change.Salvation: What’s It All About.
